Graham Beck is a giant of the South African wine scene and has led the country's thundering success since the end of Apartheid in 1994, a year that saw Nelson Mandela toast his inauguration as President with a flute of Beck's Brut NV. Fizz remains a key part of the Beck portfolio and the sparkling wines are rightly recognised as among the best in the New World. Based in Robertson, a second cellar in Franschhoek has been built to further extend the company's potential. Pieter 'Bubbles' Ferreira retains overall control of the winemaking with the talented Erika Obermeyer and Irene Waller heading up the Franschhoek and Robertson wineries respectively

Sparkling Shiraz is a unique Australian wine style, first developed in South Australia in the late 1800's. From the 1930's through to the 50's, the Seppelt winery at Great Western in Victoria became the home of great Australian Sparkling Shiraz, or Sparkling Burgundy as it was commonly known at the time.
