Yealands produce their Pinot Gris from the Berrysmith Clone, the first to be planted in NZ. It’s highly respected for producing smaller more intensely flavoured bunches. The fruit is hand harvested and the free-run juice vinified and aged (some in new French oak). Beautifully concentrated, and bursting with pear-drop and spiced apple flavours, this wine has additional mouth-feel, the viscosity that this variety deserves, without getting OTT.
